Hi,
Anything you see reviewed on thefortysomethingman blog will be relevant to my overriding theme, which is good quality menswear & style suitable for men of my age.
I have already been asked to review some products, some with financial incentives, that were simply not suitable or of interest to me or my readers. I said thanks, but no thanks. You won’t see random stuff reviewed here.
The majority of reviews will be of clothes or gear that I have bought myself. I would have a fine savings balance if I did not enjoy getting hold of good menswear and get such a kick out of wearing it. If I have bought it, then it will be referred to as such in the article. I generally only buy stuff I really like after a period of serious consideration and the purpose of these reviews is really to introduce the brand or item to my readership. If I like it, then I am pretty sure you will.
If I am sent an item to review ie “gifted” the product, I will refer to this at the beginning of the article. This is not an advertisement as I will not have been paid for the review. I will give an honest opinion of the product.
If a brand has paid me for a review post then it shall be explicitly stated in the review. The words contained in the review will always be my own. This is my blog and a blog is all about opinions. In this case it is those of the thefortysomethingman and I can be hard to please when it comes to menswear! There are plenty of great websites already covering a lot of menswear technicalities and terminology. This blog is about stuff I really like and enjoy.
The story behind some really wonderful, creative people, brands and style items will hopefully be told here. I see there are lots of cool brands doing great work with all manner of things, while staying true to core values of quality production, great style and investing in workers, people and towns. I am discovering more of these each day from other bloggers, publications or courtesy of Mr Larry Page’s search engine. I want to share my discoveries with you in an honest and personal way.
All the best,
Graeme
